Welcome

Horse Progress Days welcomes you to our 15th annual event to be held at the Mt. Hope Auction grounds in Mt. Hope, Ohio. Conveniently located between Cleveland and Columbus in the heart of Holmes County. Home of the worlds largest Amish community where farming is still done with horses. In addition to the many local horse-powered farms, you will find everything that goes with working horses is made right here. Equipment and carriages, harness and tack, collars, feed, farrier and health products, all can be found locally.

The purpose of Horse Progress Days is to showcase a complete line-up of the latest in draft horse equipment and hitching techniques. Come and see the horses and equipment up close and in action.

Many different draft horse breeds will be represented, plus mules, ponies, and oxen. Observe the various hitches, from one horse up to twelve, all at work, demonstrating plowing, discing, produce farming, logging, haymaking and such.

Take in some of the different clinics and seminars such as produce farming, logging, and round pen training. This is an opportunity to learn from the experts. There will also be a children's activity area, and last but not least the Parade of Breeds.

Bring the whole family and allow for some extra time. The rolling hills and sprawling farms of Holmes County are beautiful; enjoy them when you visit Horse Progress Days.

Please remember that you are sharing the road with slow-moving horse drawn vehicles. Slow down, drive safely and come again.
